Just started classes back last about a week or so ago. I’m taking Publication Design, Package Design and Senior Portfolio research. Figures my teacher Fish would be out for the first week… just like last quarter when I took his class for History of Graphic Design. This means only one thing, our quarter will extend into the dreaded week eleven, cutting out break short. I’m supposed to be moving soon. The apartment isn’t very appealing in my eyes, but I’ve always loved hardwood floors, and I want to live by myself, like I mentioned in my last blog. And besides, my lease is up in a few days so I don’t really have any choice. And of course if figures that the landlord would start fixing up the place I’m staying in now right when I’m about to move out…

Can’t wait to have my own furniture and cook for myself. I can’t cook in the kitchen here because my roommates are kind of f’n slobs. Anyway, I wanted to post my package design project progress thus far (wow, try saying that five times fast). There’s actually more to it, but it’s saved on a computer at home and I’ll post it a little later on.

these are tags to be used for soap. The soap sits in a pouch that is actually a washcloth. It’s tied with a ribbon at the top and the ribbons would be tied through the tags. I plan on posting the final when I ‘m finished with it.

I was asked to do a poster for a photographer who will be coming here to our school on the 31st. His name is Jeremy T. Lock. He’s served in the army during the Iraq|Afghanistan war and now takes pictures out in the field for a living. Here’s what that looks like.

Anyway, not a big fan of the type per say, but it was kind of a rush job. However I am a fan of the layout and the photographer’s images are amazing.

Anyway, I found this new site in publication class. It was posted under my instructors blog which can be found here. She’s a great teacher and a really awesome role model for me and other aspiring graphic designers I think. She’s practically designed the identities of half the great places here in Charleston.
Okay, so the new site that I found is here.

The site basically gives you a word jumble from random words or sites that have RSS feeds. It’s pretty nifty because it cuts out hours of arduous work that a designer would have to go through to put one of these designs together (I’m doing an actual one in my spare time now :p). It will give you something like this:

Alright, all done for the night here. Goodnight all. I’ll keep you posted.

Here are the new tags, the new logo, and the base that the product will sit on.
